What students investigate
Students learn that one joined toy can have many pieces, that taking a build apart leaves each piece whole, and that marks help find the same pieces again. They see how pieces connect where their faces fit together.
Then the same pieces make a new build. Students learn that changing the joins changes the shape, while turning a whole build keeps the same joins. They check for every piece from the start, compare three stages of a rebuild, and use evidence to explain how a build changed.
Who it is for
Build With Pieces is written for Grade 2 and is a natural partner for a box of snap cubes or building bricks in the classroom. Students can rebuild what they see on a card and check their own pieces.
The words piece, connect, rebuild, stage and evidence are taught on Learn cards before any question uses them.

How it works in class
- Learn. 10 silent whiteboard animations, one idea per card. No audio, so it works on a classroom screen or a quiet device.
- Review. 30 practice questions with feedback. Ideas a student misses come back.
- Mastery. 30 questions to show what each student knows on their own.
- Certificate. A student who finishes can print a certificate or save it as a PDF. It shows first-try Review and Mastery results and the ideas that needed a retry.

Questions teachers ask
Do students need building blocks?
No, the cards work on their own. Real cubes make a great follow-up, because students can try each rebuild with their hands.
How does it show the change?
Cards compare the start, middle and end stages of a rebuild side by side, with marks on the cubes so the same pieces can be followed.
